Amet   Island    is   a   small   flat-topped   Island   just   beyond   the   mouth   of   the   sound   in   Northumberland   Strait   between Cape   John   &   Malagash   Point.   Now   much   populated   by   cormorants,   seals   and   various   species   of   sea   birds,   it   once supported   a   dwelling   with   a   light   tower   and   several   out   buildings.   It   is   easily   visible   from   our   shores   during   the   day and you can spot the little flashing light on top of the steel tower at night.
